Hi! I’m Nya, founder and inventor of SONATAP.
I live in Portland, Oregon - a city that values doing things a little differently. As a lifelong skincare nerd, I knew the market was full of good products to build a well-rounded routine. But as life evolved and responsibilities grew, I found myself often skipping steps, rushing through, and struggling to be consistent with my own. I wasn’t interested in switching to overpriced, all-in-one products with lofty promises - after all, I had spent years testing and discovering what truly worked for my skin. Like so many busy women, I wasn’t lacking the right products - I was lacking a way to keep up.
I started imagining a future where skincare can be done with total freedom and automation, where one can complete a routine even while making breakfast in the morning or winding down in bed at night. I waited for many years, assuming someone in the industry would build it. But no one did. The vision wouldn't let go, so I decided to build it for myself - as a solo developer and a complete industry outsider.
In the beginning, I taught myself 3D modeling while working a full-time job, and began prototyping SONATAP at home using 3D printer. It was a slow, inventive process - but eventually, I developed functional prototypes that proved the concept. From there, I navigated the complex world of cosmetic packaging and found a global manufacturer to team up to bring SONATAP into life and into the hands of early adopters who shared the same vision.
SONATAP wasn’t born from a corporate marketing boardroom. It started from the ground up by an everyday consumer - a person with a problem, an imagination, and the determination to turn it into a reality. We still have a way to go, but I hope you’ll join me in this journey to reshape a new era of skincare.
